Saying this week was busy is an understatement. Tests, group projects, assignments, guest lectures, and snow days. Yes that's right; we had a snow day! On Monday, we had almost 2 whole inches of snow, and this may seem silly to K and I, it is actually very debilitating to these southern cities! We are both from very wintery climates, and 2 in. of snow is just another day for us, but down here it's a whole different ball game! People go stock up on food and salt in preparation for these "blizzard" conditions! "Settle down BOLIVAR!" However, I'm not complaining, it was another day to study and get some training in. We decided to ride to our favorite Spinerval; Aerobic Engine Builder (doesn't that name just make you feel inspired?!) Tony (yes, we know that's not his name) and the crew guided us through 2 hours of sweat and fun. Again we named all of the bikers in the video just to pass the time (My favorites are Muppett, a raggedy haired dude who looks like he is stuck in the 70's, Cho, an older Asian gentleman who looks ravishing in tiger print bike shorts, and Chris, a younger dude who looks about as excited as we feel when riding). It is actually a great workout; we both prefer the lower cadence high power output aspect as we are definitely not sprinters. Tuesday, we swam 2 grand and actually felt pretty strong. It's getting a little bit easier each time. I also taught yoga sculpt down in Springfield. Wednesday was our HUGE exam for neuro, it was over cerebral vascular accidents (stroke) and lets just say K and I will not be specializing in neuro. B's get degrees right?! But good news we got one of the higher grades in the class on our case study, so even if neuro exams aren't our forte, at least we can treat a paper case on multiple sclerosis with great ability and confidence (we'll see what happens when we have an actual patient!) K went for a 4 mi. run with Beem, and I did a 5 mi. run after a much needed nap. Thursday we rode for an hour while watching Grey's, a little TV drama always helps the ride go quicker. It was gorgeous here on Friday and I was inspired by K's outfit, so I put on a skirt to be just like her!!!!!!! (I can see her rolling her eyes at me now!!! haha) We have been following some beautiful yoga Instagram accounts and were inspired by some of the amazing pictures of yoginis in skirts, so we attempted to take some of our own! That evening we had a Hunger Games dinner with our friends, some items on the menu were: Peeta's cheese bread, Nightlock punch, Rue's berry cobbler, and a lot of other deliciousness that had nothing to do with the Hunger Games (we pretended it was from the Capitol). We both want to be best friends with JLaw, she is the stunning and fearless! And Josh.... we love you too!!!! Saturday it was rainy all day so we decided to switch up our schedule and get in another long ride. We biked while watching the Hunger Games.... yes for those of you counting that's twice in 24 hours... we are a little bit obsessed. That was our longest ride, and it was actually not too shabby! Our ride was filled with commentary from the both of us with phrases like, "Do you think we could wear rhinestones under our eyes like Katniss and still be socially acceptable?" or "I wish our tri suits were made out of the quarter quell games material" and finally "I bet we would make it pretty far in the games". Needless to say our mind wanders on these long rides. Today it was sunny and 60 degrees out, so we decided to get in our first bike run brick in. We rode for 40 min and ran 3 miles. Baby steps!! This week is another crazy one, but then we get a breather with an easy week and spring break! I think this quote summarizes our week "I am not afraid of the storm, for I am learning how to sail my ship" Bring it on school... BRING IT ON! Oh and please pray for our sanity this week.... and the sanity of our Mom's as we call home in stress mode :)
