I'm originally from the great white north, ok not really, I'm actually from Madison Wisconsin, but sometimes its cold enough to be the tundra. I was a competitive swimmer for 17 years, two time team captain and All-Big Ten swimmer for the University of Minnesota Women's swim team. I studied Kinesiology with an emphasis in clinical movement science at the U of M and graduated in May of 2011. Repeated a couple courses, braved the harsh winter for one more year and luckily wound up in DPT school at SBU (in the middle of nowhere Missouri). Currently finishing up my second year of schooling, and ready for the light at the end of the tunnel.... clinicals!!!!
2013 was a year of firsts, first half marathon, first full marathon (woof, it was rough but I survived) and first year as a pet owner. Calhoun my little orange tabby is the craziest kitten in southwest Missouri, and sure knows how to keep me entertained. When not trying out new sports I am a certified Yoga Sculpt instructor at Sumits Hot Yoga in Springfield, Mo. I figured I learned how to run in this past year, I have lungs like a fish, and I enjoy biking, why not throw them all together?! Ironman 70.3 might be a crazy way to do your first triathlon ever, but then again why not?! Here's new challenges, new obstacles, and some major laughs along the way.
You are strong, You are important. You are more than enough.

I am actually from Golden, CO, but I figured Denver is close enough (hence the "Den" in our name). I graduated from CSU (go Rams!) with a BS in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Medicine. I also have a couple certifications in the exercise realm (ACE Personal Trainer, Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor, RYT/YYT, Raw Food Level 1). I have a dog named Beemer and I am currently working on my DPT in a small town in MO (emphasis on the "small" part). Almost done! A couple more months then it's time for clinicals!
To be honest, I'd much rather be hitting the slopes back home, hiking some 14ers, hanging out in a hot yoga studio, or seeing what I can whip up in the kitchen than racing. But, this past year I ran my first half marathon and then a full marathon, so I guess I have the racing bug...sort of. Now I'm moving onto triathlons and thought the Ironman 70.3 would be a good place to start. I know it's crazy, but might as well do it now while I'm able!
