Whoa, once again, it's been quite sometime since we've updated. Sorry about that! Anyway, here's the quick rundown:
Wed: ran 4mi
Thurs: biked 45min
Fri: rested
Sat: swam 1500m, biked 45min
Sun: ran 5.5mi (we just weren't feeling it! and...we horrifically watched the Broncos throw in the towel before the game even began...oh well.)
Mon: rested
Tues (that's today!): biked 90min with our favorite Spinerval instructor Tony and the gang. "Are your quads on fire?" Yes Tony they are, don't worry! Then headed to the pool to swim. "There is nothing like jumping into cold chlorinated water when its snowing outside to make you feel alive..." said no one ever!! Not sure how I did this for 17 years in Wisconsin/Minnesota, and how K did it in Colorado (until HS bcz then I got tired of it halfway through those 4 yrs...hello other sports!!!) when the windchill would be -40 in the morning and you'd have to go swim at 5:30 am. I plead mentally insane; that's the only logical explanation! In other swimming news, I got new goggles and was pretty excited about them...evidently swimmers are easy to please! We did the usual warm up plus some more swimming back and forth looking at the glorious black line (did I say glorious? I meant boring). We finished off with a couple rounds of ring bubbles in the deep end and called it a day. The best part about not being on a team any more is you can cool down any way you'd like!!!! You wanna do dolphin dives...be my guest! Ring bubbles...absolutely prefect!
Tomorrow is our first neuro exam of the semester, it is on Multiple Sclerosis. Did you know that cold water aquatic therapy is one of the best treatment options for patients with MS (yay for volunteering at MS Aqua in Fort Collins!)? PT fact of the day.
Some pictures from our trip to KC.... better late than never!
